New York State Birth Records

New York State vital records offices maintain birth records for residents of it’s 62 counties. Five of these counties make up the five boroughs of New York City – Brooklyn, the Bronx, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island. New York Recorders store vital records such as births, deaths and marriages for each of these counties. These details can be obtained by contacting these offices or ordering them online.

The New York Department Of Public Heath maintains vital records for the state including Birth, death, marriage and divorce records, and is situated in New York City. This office issues certified copies of birth records from 1910 onwards.

The New York City Office of Vital Records maintains and issue birth records in the New York City area since 1910. This includes Brooklyn, the Bronx, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island. Birth records beofore 1910 are maintained by the Department of Records.
